DIAGNOSIS

Hospice is often associated with cancer when in actuality only half of hospice patients have cancer. persons with any advanced illness are eligible for hospice. Some common diagnosis include: ALS Alzheimer’s Congestive Heart Failure End-Stage Dementia End- Stage Liver Disease End-Stage Renal Disease Multiple Sclerosis Parkinson’s Disease Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Stroke. In addition, those experiencing serious multi-symptom deterioration, frequent emergency room visits and/or hospitalisations , or discontinuing aggressive treatment may also be eligible for hospice care.
